Do Valheim servers need a password?
Yes — dedicated servers require one, and it cannot appear in the server name. Set it on the Game tab (5–20 characters) and change it anytime; mods and settings survive the change.
Can Xbox or Game Pass players join?
Yes — turn on crossplay in the panel and console players join the same world as Steam players, on the same server.
How do I install Valheim mods?
One click. The Addons tab installs the BepInEx loader — your server switches to the modded flavour and the world is kept — then you add mods from Thunderstore the same way.
Can I bring my existing world?
Yes — upload the world files with the file manager or SFTP, set the world name in the panel, and start. Changing the world name later loads a different world.
How many players fit on a server?
Up to 10 on the 4 GB tier; the 8 GB tier leaves headroom for big mod lists. Upgrade anytime without losing the world.
